Over a number of years Dexion has supplied Scania’s worldwide distribution centre in Opglabbeek, near Genk, Belgium, with a mixture of racking & shelving, helping to make the best possible use of their warehouse space. From this large distribution centre Scania sends parts all over the world for their lorries.
Scania’s lorry parts range in size from a small washer up to a full size lorry cab and they therefore require a mix of solutions for both storage and picking.
Their warehouses are typically 10m high and making the most of that space was important to Scania.
As various warehouses at the Opglabbeek, near Genk site have been added so Dexion has been involved in designing the storage systems, from outdoor galvanized racking for the unfinished lorry cabs, to wide aisle and narrow aisle racking for bulk stock of parts and multi-tier shelving systems for picking of individual items.
